COVID-19 Data Reporting FAQs for Hospitals

In follow up to the Vice President’s request to hospitals on March 29, 2020 to report COVID-19 data to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), DHHS Secretary Alex Azar in a letter to U.S. hospitals today, shared a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document detailing the federal government’s COVID-19 data needs, the division of reporting responsibility between hospitals and states and options for timely delivery of this critical information. Secretary Azar also emphasized the importance of sharing the requested data on a daily basis to facilitate planning, monitoring, and resource allocation during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
