On Monday, May 4, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), with support from The John A. Hartford Foundation, launched the COVID-19 Rapid Response Network for Nursing Homes. The network is designed to support nursing home leadership, staff, residents and families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Rapid Response Network features a daily 20-minute National Nursing Home Huddle to provide real-time, pragmatic solutions that can be implemented in nursing homes today to solve many of the key problems brought about or exacerbated by COVID-19. Call topics reflect issues identified as most pressing by those providing care for nursing home residents including: personal protective equipment (PPE), COVID-19 testing, hospital to nursing home transfers, staff illness and absence, and staff attrition.
