Telehealth Benefits Expanded for People with Medicare in Response to COVID-19

People with Medicare can receive a wider range of health care services from their providers without visiting a health care facility following an announcement today from President Trump and the COVID-19 Task Force. In addition to expanding telehealth coverage, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights will waive potential HIPAA penalties for providers using telehealth capabilities during this national public health emergency.
