In a letter to U.S. hospitals this Sunday, Vice President Mike Pence requested that hospitals report data to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services about COVID-19 tests conducted by in-house labs and by certain independent labs. He also asked hospitals to report daily bed capacity and critical supply status to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN). Along with the letter, CMS has asked us to provide you with:
- A template for reporting daily COVID-19 testing data
- Instructions on how to access and enter data into the NHSN Patient Impact and Hospital Capacity Module
- Instructions for collecting data for the Patient Impact and Hospital Capacity Module
For questions about reporting COVID-19, please contact fema-hhs-covid-diagnostics-tf@fema.dhs.gov. For questions about the NHSN Patient Impact and Hospital Capacity Module please contact NHSN@cdc.gov and put “COVID-19 Module” in the subject line. Thank you for the important work you do on the front lines of health care every day – and especially now, when your community needs you most.
